The NFT platform Throne, scheduled to launch next month, has hired Gee Roberson as executive creative director and partner.

Throne’s founding partners include the award-winning Nellee Hooper as a music producer for artists such as Massive Attack, Soul II Soul, Sade, U2, Madonna and Bjork.

Roberson is a Los Angeles-based former manager of Kanye West, Drake and Nicki Minaj.

He is also a partner of Maverick Management, a subsidiary of Live Nation Entertainment, which manages careers such as Madonna, U2, Aerosmith, G-Eazy, Miley Cyrus, Paul McCartney and The Weeknd.

Roberson oversees creative work at Throne, focusing on project development with artists, IP holders and creators.

Today’s announcement follows the news that BPG Music, founded by Roberson and longtime business partner Jean Nelson, formed a strategic partnership with Warner Records in February.

In March, the virtual event platform `Looped` raised $ 7.7 million from investors, including Gee Roberson.

“NFTs are artistic media and change the way we create.”

Gee Roberson

Gee Roberson said, “NFTs are an artistic medium that gives us the tools to change the way we create and reshape the way we supply resources to the creative economic community.

I think we are doing something that will greatly improve the future of artists of all genres. “

Roberson added,  “The best thing about Throne is that it’s aimed at creators of all stages, whether they’re just starting out or a more established artist.

Notably, Throne does not charge any fees if the creator chooses to trade in THN, the project’s native currency.

In other words, creators can get 100% of the final selling price of their NFT.

Creators can also choose to trade in ETH (the world’s second largest cryptocurrency after Bitcoin), but in that case there will be a platform fee. “

“The importance of technology and modern culture is reflected in everything we do.”

Chimere Cisse, Throne

Throne’s artistic director, Chimere Cisse said, “We believe that an open and fluid marketplace will drive these new creative economies, with the help of a community of passionate users, developers and creators. We are building a platform. “

“The importance of technology and modern culture is reflected in everything we do, which clearly sets us apart,” she said.
